How to moisturize your hair in summer?

Soon the holidays, the beach, the swimming pool, the heat… something to decompress and enjoy! But beware ladies because the holidays are not easy for our beautiful hair. Between sand, chlorine, salt and the sun, our hair is subjected to numerous attacks which weaken it and can make it dry and brittle.

Here are some hair tips to keep your hair healthy:

Tip number 1: Protect your hair from external aggressions.

Before leaving for a day at the beach or swimming pool, consider applying a protective oil to your lengths. Put a few drops in your hands, rub and distribute delicately all over your hair, insisting a little more on the ends. Be careful not to put too much of it, it might grease them.

Here are some vegetable oils that contain a natural sun protection factor:

    Buriti oil

    Karanja oil

    Sesame oil

    Coconut oil

    Castor oil

    Jojoba oil

    Argan Oil

    Avocado oil

Prefer organic 1st cold pressed oils. Be careful not to use oils that do not contain sun index, such as monoi oil, which will do the opposite.

Tip number 2: use hydrosols

A hydrosol is water that is collected at the end of the distillation of essential oils. It has the virtues of the distilled plant. Hydrosols can be used without risk unlike essential oils. They have many benefits for the hair: they stimulate growth, strengthen them, hydrate them and give them shine.

Here are three hydrosols to use on dry and damaged hair:

    Witch hazel hydrosol

    Blueberry hydrosol

    German chamomile hydrosol

Apply your hydrosol after shampooing to damp hair. Distribute generously and gently massage the scalp and lengths. Place it in the refrigerator after opening, for better conservation.

Tip number 3: apply a nourishing mask

For well-hydrated hair, apply a homemade nourishing mask and leave it on for several hours or even overnight.

Here are 3 homemade recipes for soft, shiny hair:

Honey and olive oil mask

2 tablespoons of honey

6 tablespoons of lukewarm water

4 tablespoons of olive oil

1 teaspoon of organic lemon (optional)

Olive oil is an excellent natural product for combating dry hair. This vegetable oil will deeply nourish your hair, but also restore shine. Honey is renowned for its regenerative properties. It has a strong nourishing and repairing power, its action will allow you to find stronger and silky hair.

Mask with aloe vera and coconut oil

2 tablespoons of organic aloe vera gel

2 tablespoons of coconut oil

Aloe vera is particularly recommended for dry and weakened hair. The regenerating qualities of aloe vera revive the shine of the hair. Coconut oil, thanks to its richness in lauric acid, will nourish your hair in depth and give it shine. This treatment will bring them tone and flexibility.

Avocado and egg mask

1 avocado

1 egg yolk

Both moisturizing and nourishing, avocado contains vitamins (A, E, B6 and C), as well as essential fatty acids. Result: shiny, deeply hydrated and toned hair! Eggs are rich in good fats and proteins, which makes them a magical ingredient in repairing dry, brittle hair.

For each mask, mix all the ingredients in a bowl until you get a smooth paste. Apply to dry hair, avoiding putting it on your roots as this will make them greasy. Leave on for at least 1 hour, you can keep the mask on overnight if you wish.

By applying all of our tips, your hair will stay healthy all summer long!
